I have only seen a waterfalls once and that was 5 years ago. I never knew that I would be able to grace another when I volunteered to be a part of Haribon's Tree Planting Activity in Baras Communal Forest. By some turn of events, I found myself agreeing to spend the rest of my day with a group of total strangers and although I do not recommend accompanying people I don't know, but I must say that I have not regretted tagging along with them.

Each of us always think of taking that small step to do something great, to step out of our comfort zones and create more meaning to the things we do. Haribon Foundation, a non-government organization is doing just that. It aims to "protect nature and preserve life" by encouraging people to participate in their activities.
Haribon recently held a Tree Planting Activity at Baras Communal Forest as part of their Road to 2020 movement. It was such a pleasant experience to be a part of something that will surely bear fruit literally and figuratively.
I woke up at 5:00 am for the tree planting and took public transport service to Baras' New Municipal Hall. The weather was damp, my friend woke up late and I had to travel alone. I arrived at the meeting place an hour after the call time and was seriously thinking of turning my back towards the comfort of home. It wasn't really my day.
I was already thinking of heading home when I met the The Pinoy Volunteers' Group who were also at Baras' New Municipal Hall for Haribon's Tree Planting Activity. My friend not showing up turned out to be a blessing as it led me to meet these kind individuals with whom I look forward to spending more of my volunteer weekends.

PS: I also got invited to their tour to Daranak Falls afterwards XD

Planking. More fun in the Philippines Samsung Galaxy U (SHW-M130L) 5MP Camera Daranak Falls, Tanay Rizal June 2012 |
Hours of waiting for someone has finally paid off. I have been waiting for someone to jump so that I could take a picture of them. And finally, two kids from the area volunteered to jump off the cliff into the 30 feet deep water of Daranak Falls. I was just lucky enough to click the camera in time and capture this kid 'planking' in mid-air.

Watermark Logo |
Finally! After hours of sitting in front of the computer, I have created my very own graphic watermark. It took me hours to come up with this one and yeah, I started from scratch! I know it looks too simple and all but it's one creation I'm extremely proud of. I was seriously cheering myself the whole time I was making this one and my sister finally decided I'm going nuts... but to hell with that! Ahahahaha. I am just SO happy that it turned out great.
By the way, I used Paint, Sumo and BeFunky to come up with this lovely logo.

If you enter the University of the Philippines, Los Banos via its main gate by foot, you just have to go straight and you'll pass by the Royal Palm Avenue. This is the road between Hum Building and Phy Sci with lots of Royal Palm Trees.
During my freshman year at the university, jeepneys still pass The Royal Palm Avenue route and the view inside the jeepney is a sight to behold. Imagine a series of royal trees standing tall to welcome you as you enter deep into the university.
So, what's special about these Royal Palm Trees? Well, they're just one of the twelve celebrity trees that UPLB recognized during its Centennial Anniversary. This trees are part of the what the university calls "Heritage Trees" which withstood the test of time and survived typhoons after typhoons. According to the committee, these trees are already 100 years of age!

I received the word that there will be a Converse Factory Sale in Marikina so my teammates and I rushed there. It was around 6:00 a.m. when our shift ended so we arrived there at around 7:00 a.m. There were a lot of people waiting outside and it was already full of people inside the factory!
I got the shoes for only 1,000 php compared to its price in SM North which was around 2,100 php. I'm not a big spender on shoes but I think this pair was worth it. Besides, my friends can't help ogling whenever I wear this pair and that always puts a smile on my face.
I got lost in the sea of unfamiliar faces but to hell with that! I grabbed this really huge plastic bag the kuyas were giving out and headed to the shoe racks. I stuffed all the goodies I can see inside the plastic until it was too heavy for me to carry around (talk about workout, hahahaha).
After all that grabbing, I went to a corner and narrowed down my choices into three awesome shoes!

We were on the way back when it struck me that the flowers I just saw closely resembled the flowers I always see at the back of VetMed dorm in UPLB. I also saw a purple blue variation of it on the Flora Filipina Exhibit and it all came back to me! This should be a species from the Passion flower family, so I used Google to identify this plant.
